Contributors Image Upload/Review

indiPik is continuously on the lookout for new images to add to its collection. Contributing photographs to indiPik is completely free, and you keep ownership of your work.

  1. Steps to Submit Images for ReviewAdding Images for review to indiPik is simple. All you have to do is stick to these three easy steps:
    1. Upload your images - Uploading your images to indiPik is done in one of the _____following____ ways: web browser or _FTP_____.
      • JPEG and _______ files under ___ megabytes can be immediately uploaded from your account's upload page.
      • Simply drag & drop files into the uploading box or pick several files from your desktop by clicking "Upload" at the bottom right of your contributor account page.
      • The online upload page allows you to upload up to _______ files at once.
      • Larger file sizes or ____ files larger than _____ MB must be uploaded using ______
    2. Add Metadata

      After your images have been correctly uploaded, you must enter metadata, including titles (descriptions), 20-25 keywords, model release, and at least one category. This information is called metadata, allowing others to find your photos.

      You can either type in your own keywords or choose from our keyword suggestions. It looks for photographs that are visually comparable to the one you're providing and suggests keywords that have previously been successful. As a final step in keywording, check for spelling mistakes.

      Note: MODEL RELEASE is required if you submit images that include identifiable people. We will want to keep a record of this.

    3. Click on submit for review
      • Click submit to send your images for evaluation once they are ready.
      • If you aren't ready to submit right now, you may save your uploaded content by clicking “Save'' in the bottom right corner of the submit content page and submitting it later.
  2. Content Review Process

    The pending section of the Contributor Dashboard will show your submitted work.

    The results of your work will be displayed on the indiPik’s ___ for ___ days after it has been reviewed. Newly authorized content may take up to ___ _______ to appear in your portfolio.

    Our curation staff chooses the best uploads to be displayed in indiPik’s search results, allowing more people to discover and use that content.

    1. Review Guidelines -
      • Technical execution encompasses things like lighting, focus, and noise.
      • Titles and keywords are checked for accuracy, relevancy, and compliance requirements.
      • Image is checked for trademark and intellectual property infringements and copyright infringements.
      • Submissions are reviewed for similar content and spamming, as well as adherence to indiPik content regulations.
    2. Review Timelines
      • We make every effort to check all submitted content as promptly as possible, with most entries being reviewed within __48___ hours.
      • During periods of high application volume, however, the reviewing process may take up to 4 business days.
      • A longer than typical review time may indicate that your work has been elevated to management for review. This does not imply that your contribution is flawed; rather, it indicates that a reviewer has asked for a more authoritative judgment or explanation before accepting or rejecting a collection of photographs.
    3. Review Accuracy
      • Because individual reviewers assess all content, various reviewers may have slightly varied perspectives on what constitutes appropriate content.
      • You can submit your content for another evaluation if you disagree with the outcome of an assessment based on technical execution.

  3. Content Rejection

    These are some reasons your upload may not be selected to be shown in search results:

    1. Basic Reasons
      • Copyright issue (you upload photos that you do not own the copyright to or that you did not create yourself)
      • Insufficient permission (depicted people or owners of depicted property did not permit you to publish the photos)
      • Duplicate entries (you upload copies of photos you already uploaded to indiPik)
      • Containing offensive material
    2. Technical Reasons
      • The photo is unclear (blurry, unfocused, or ambiguous)
      • Low-resolution images (__4___ megapixel minimum)
      • Orientation
      • Greater than 25 MB
      • The maximum file size you can upload using your web browser is 50 MB for photos
    3. Other Reasons
      • Added borders
      • Added watermarks
      • Over-edited
      • Added text overlays
      • Added Graphic
